For Sunday Story #3, your first task is to find/select a video featuring your assigned digerati. You’re going to need to be able to convert this video for editing, so best bet is to stick to videos you find on YouTube, TED or Vimeo (other sites often have copy-protection which makes it much harder to convert the video).

Find and select a short excerpt from your video. The goal is to find a segment that encapsules a single, discussable idea. Then write a guiding question that we might discuss after watching the video segment.

Your finished 60 second video should be comprised of the following elements:

  • Title slide which offers a guiding question with on-screen text
  • Reflection on the guiding question using edited segment(s) from your selected digerati video
  • On-screen text with the edited segments that helps the viewer to understand/consider the ideas/arguments presented by your video subject

In order to complete this assignment, you will need to download your selected video into a format that allows you to edit it. If you are using iMovie, the appropriate format is .mov or mp4. In most cases, you will need to use a free web service to convert the video. Here are links to some converter services. Remember you want to convert to Video mp4 if you are using your iPad or a Mac.
