If you gave me a torch and permission, I would burn every lead magnet and webinar to the ground. Believe me when I say that with few exceptions — including free chapters of novels I preview before buying the book — both have been an epic waste of my time. Two pages of definitions I could’ve looked up on Google in exchange for you Willy Lohaming your way into my inbox is not a fair trade. I’ve endured the 45-minutes pitch calls you’ve branded as “exclusive, nowhere-to-be-found insights,” which taught me webinars are wasted hours of my life I’ll never get back.

Yes, I realize my opinion is controversial. People are already stomping their little feet, waving their valuable PDFs in my face. I give zero fucks because I’ve downloaded and viewed only a few lead magnets that proved their worth. So before you start shouting, yes, I believe stellar examples exist amidst the flaming sea of feces.

I’m a marketer and a consumer — not an idiot. Don’t spin your false tales of selfless altruism, the martyr voice crying out that your labor-of-love podcast is free to your listeners.
