You might know about the importance of “me time” for moms, but there’s a difference between being aware of it and actually being able to make time for it! That’s why we’ve put together this list of five quick ways you can pamper yourself during the weekends. They all take under two hours, some of them can be done in just a few minutes, but they’re all relaxing and wonderful.

Get Great Skin Care

You may be a mother and/or wife, but you’re also your own person, and there isn’t a human alive who doesn’t want to look good. Take some time to give yourself that with activities that are designed purely to make you look good, helping you feel great about yourself inside and out.

Spa Night

Take over the bathroom, and make a solid rule with the family that you are not to be disturbed unless someone is dying or the house is on fire. Then, get the best skin care products you can and use them all!

Use facial scrub for exfoliation, a face mask for clarity and brightness, and a bath bomb for relaxation. Your skin will look incredible, and you’ll feel wonderful. If you can, go a step above drug store products. Whether you use bar soaps, liquid bubble bath, sheet masks, or anything else, having high quality skin care items will help you pamper yourself even more.

Fast Professional Care

Maybe you’ve already managed to work some great skin care into your regular routine. That doesn’t mean you can’t still pamper yourself if you can get out of the house. Professional treatments will take your skin care to the next level. Upgrade your glow with a 15 minute “lunch break beauty” treatment for noteworthy skin and extraordinary pampering.

Consider Botox treatments if you’re concerned about wrinkles, laser treatments to clear and tighten your skin, or even dermal fillers to update your appearance without the downtime of surgery.

Order From Your Favorite Restaurant

One of the great luxuries of the modern world is delivery services. No matter how good a cook you are, you don’t have to whip up a perfect homemade meal every night. Order from your favorite restaurant and have someone else do the work for you.

Fancy Food

Just about every restaurant will deliver these days, including the ultra fancy ones. You can enjoy the delights of haute cuisine without trying to force the kids into their nice outfits and make them sit down at a place that isn’t designed to accommodate them.

Even Michelin star restaurants can have kids’ menus. It doesn’t have to be a hassle trying to figure out what your children will eat while you enjoy fine dining. You can pamper your taste buds while also taking care of the kids, no matter how picky they are.

Cheat Meals

Of course, you already know that sometimes the best meals aren’t the fanciest, they’re the ones where you allow yourself the food you’re really craving, no matter how unhealthy it is. So long as you don’t make it a frequent habit, ordering your favorite cheat meal and having it brought straight to you at home is a true delight, and the ultimate in easy relaxation and enjoyment.

Whether it’s a burger and fries, the best greasy slice of pizza you can find, or even pastries from your favorite bakery, junk food is delicious and is a classic “guilty pleasure”.

Get A Good Workout In

To quote a great movie line: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. “ Elle Woods may not have been a mom, but she absolutely got it right in Legally Blonde. Working out may not be relaxing, but you’ll feel so much better about your body, your strength, and yourself after completing a great workout that it’s just as good as any other method of pampering.

At The Gym

Plug in some earbuds and hit the gym for the best workouts imaginable. You can find any kind of workout you prefer at the gym, whether you like weightlifting, cardio, or classes. Machines that are hard to get at home are readily available. And there’s sometimes even a sauna at the gym, so you can fit in some relaxation afterwards.

Plus, although you’ll be surrounded by strangers, your partner and your kids won’t be there, so it’s still a peaceful place. After all, gyms are built to accommodate you and help you feel good about yourself.

Using Home Equipment

Of course, sometimes it’s impossible to get away from the house. It’s still possible to get a good sweat going at home! And the bright side is that you don’t have to wait for the shower when you’re done.

There’s plenty of affordable at home exercise equipment. From yoga mats to resistance bands to dumbbells, it’s easy to get the basics for a solid all around workout, and it can be done in as little as half an hour.

Get A Massage

Gone are the days when massage was seen only as an indulgent luxury. Now we know that it also helps lower stress and blood pressure, and raises energy and alertness. Plus, it makes us feel incredible! There’s no better way to pamper yourself more than that.

At A Parlor

If you can take a couple of hours for yourself, you can escape into a spa and get your entire body taken care of with a 60–90 minute massage. This is the ultimate in pampering, particularly when you add in aromatherapy.

A professional masseuse knows how to work your muscles properly, soothe knots in your back, and make sure you truly relax. In under two hours, your entire outlook on life and the way your body feels can be transformed in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing.

From Your Partner

If you have some time after the kids have gone to bed, instead of just binge watching TV again, consider trading a deep shoulder or foot massage with your partner. You will both appreciate the gesture, and it will feel wonderful to have your muscles eased by the person you love.

If that’s not an option, sink into a jetted bathtub or spa and relax. Consider getting massage rollers, back massagers with long handles, or even massaging machines that you can attach to your favorite comfy chair for a muscle massage you don’t need any help for.

Do Something Nice For The Home

It’s notoriously difficult to keep the house looking nice when you have kids. But with a nice change in the home, you can still make it feel luxurious, even if it’s a little bit of a mess.

Something Small

You don’t need to make a serious change to get serious enjoyment. So long as you notice it and enjoy the difference, it can feel very good to update your home.

Whether it’s a new tablecloth you’ve had your eye on, an upgrade to your kitchenware to make cooking easier, or even a beautiful bouquet of flowers, you can pamper yourself with nice products. Especially when it’s something for you, your kids won’t be able to play with or break it. You don’t need to live in an actual palace when you can take joy from the little things.

Something Big

Of course, it can feel like you live in an entirely new and upgraded home when you replace just one or two big furniture pieces around the house. Maybe it’s time to replace your couch, or your dining table is covered in scratches. Starting the search for replacements can be an exciting and fun way to treat yourself.

Some parents find it hard to justify new furniture with kids, since they leave a trail of stains and scratches behind them. But even when you shop on a budget, you can still refresh your home with something lovely that’s also sturdy enough to handle a house full of children.

It can be difficult to take “me time” and pamper yourself on the weekends since even school age children are home all day. But it’s worth it to make the effort and make it happen. It will refresh your brain, restore your body, and help you come back to your family with the very best of yourself when you’re done!
