If you’ve ever sat down at your sewing machine to make clothes or decorated an ugly Christmas sweater, your kids have likely been right there with you, wanting to help. One of the greatest joys of being a parent is seeing your child’s eagerness to help cook, craft, clean, and simply be a part of your next project.

What better way to create cherished memories than by helping them discover a new passion? Here are six simple clothing craft projects that will spark the inner fashionista in your children!

Decorated Slippers

Making decorated slippers with kids is super easy! Slippers make great gifts for the cold-weather season and the recipient will cherish the effort that you put into making them. All you need is a plain, inexpensive pair of slippers and some embellishments like fabric flowers, rhinestones, jingle bells, pom poms, or anything else that strikes your fancy in the craft store. Help your child use fabric glue to secure the embellishments to the slippers, or try your hand at decorating baseball caps if slippers aren’t your fancy!
