Apps That Can Help Your Anxious Child

Anxiety in young children and teenagers has become so commonplace these days that conventional GP’s can’t keep up with the cries for help from parents.

Parents want their children to be heard and listened to by somebody professional, and then helped back to feeling normal again. But there are just not enough individual social workers and therapists in each county, to cover these growing types of needs.

For severe cases, there are often long waiting lists for referrals and once referred, an assessment occurs, which is usually the last thing an anxious child wants to deal with.

For many, this means frustration and interference with everyday life, whilst waiting and waiting. The parent and child often both ending up more anxious.

As the report below indicates some shocking stats, it’s important to note that these are from 2016 — a long five years ago now! Imagine the effect of Covid-chaos and lockdowns on teenagers since 2020? I’d guesstimate figures are around 1 in 100 children by now, sadly.
