Stop wasting money on these 3 silly vitamins: top pharmacist
Given the get-rich-quick scheming, Ozempic-addled society we currently live in, it’s no surprise that the health supplement industry has grown into an estimated $100 billion-a-year business.
While real ones know that big-time success stems from hard work and small wins over long periods of time, most would rather click buttons or take pills in search of an effortless path to health and happiness.
Now that’s not to say there’s no value in any supplements.
Take me, for example.
I live in a cold-weather Canadian climate where we can go days, weeks, and months without really seeing the sun (*shudders*).
As such, Vitamin D deficiency is pretty common here and hard to make up for (unless you’re, say, fabulously wealthy and can jet on down to the Caribbean a few times each winter).
I’ve also gone through brief phases where I’ve tried vitamin cocktails to try and compensate for my otherwise poor health decisions.
I knew booze was bad for me when I was hooked on it, for example, and I tried to convince myself that taking supplements would mitigate some of the damage (sad, the things we tell ourselves to justify that particular addiction).
I also tried a different mix suggested in my favorite quit drinking book when I was coming off booze.
