Into Each Life a Little RAIN Should Fall

Make my funk the K-funk

RAIN, YouTube

Though I discovered K-pop and J-pop a few years ago, I’ve never taken a deep dive because I had trouble finding my “niche.”

I need a little more funk than most younger fans require. I mean, I’m old enough to remember when the term and the sound were first “invented.”

And if I don’t feel it simmering somewhere beneath even genres that aren’t particularly funky on the surface, I shall not be moved.

Today I’m serving you someone YouTube introduced me to a few days ago — and decades late — doing that “let’s just drop something into her feed and see if she likes it” thing it tries every day.

And mama liked.

It was RAIN, aka Jung Ji-Hoon, dancing his ass off New Jack Swing/Bruno Mars style with another Korean powerhouse, Park Jin-Young, on “Knowing Bros.,” one of Korea’s many madcap reality shows.

I must’ve replayed that video a few dozen times before shooting it off to Twitter and Facebook to share my unabashed astonishment with friends:
