A Year in Review: 2018 at FanChain
2018 set the stage for 2019 to be the breakout year for the FanChain ecosystem!
In the past 12 months:
The FanChain Token, FANZ, was developed to include the unique feature set necessary to offer the world a cryptocurrency that knows your favorite team. A fungible/non-fungible hybrid ERC-20 token with 721-style characteristics enables each individual FANZ token capable of being stamped with team-specific metadata;
FanChain has been embraced my two of two of the world’s largest and most prestigious players unions in the NFLPA and WNBPA;
An official partnership between FanChain and FanWide, the world’s largest network of sports fan clubs, will see hundreds of thousands, potentially millions, of FANZ tokens distributed to FanWide’s substantial global user-base;
SportsCastr, the first Mint in the FanChain Ecosystem (FanWide representing the second), unveiled massive technical updates to its groundbreaking live streaming video player — on the web, mobile web and within the SportsCastr app — and showcased the power of its “Social First Screen” (aka “OTT-in-a-box”) during several live streaming events. MMA fans around the world were able to watch America’s longest-running Muay Thai championship, Friday Night Fights, along with martial arts luminaries such as Gorgeous George and Goze from MMA Junkie; King of the Cage’s Steve Inman; fight champions Chris Romulo, Paul Leduc, Sean Fagan, Arthur Sorsor, Paul Banasiak and more; as well as sports media giants JR SportBrief and K1ANOOP;
SportsCastr also announced an official partnership with STATS, the world’s premier provides of sports data and analytics, that will give fans all around the world the very tools that professional commentators have;
FanWide won the Token Forum pitch contest;
FanChain by SportsCastr won Token Match New York;
and David Stern, advisor to and investor in FanChain by SportsCastr, was nominated for Sport Techie’s Investor of the Year.
And these are just some of the highlights from a non-stop, incredible 2018!
