The ordering interface on FanFood’s concession ordering app.

If there’s something that the FanFood team loves more than anything — besides making the best product ever for you, of course — is hearing from you, our customers.

That’s why we conducted a survey this year of 1,566 fans in the high school space to better understand their concession ordering experience. 76% of all respondents say they gave up purchasing concessions due to long lines at least once before, and 74% of those surveyed would love to have a mobile ordering solution for high school concessions.

Purchasing concessions is still a major part of the high school sports game experience, as 87.3% of the high school fans indicated that they will purchase concessions and merchandise at high school events. However, due to the fact that high school concession stands are likely to only accept cash, fans feel like they have to carry cash with them to a high school game (91% of them, in fact). This high percentage of fans still carrying cash, in contrast to 74% of fans wanting a more convenient mobile ordering solution, tells us that there’s a strong demand for change in the concession ordering space.

An overwhelming willingness to make purchases at high school games, combined with the inconvenience of cash transactions and long wait time, is perhaps the reason why fans are calling for a mobile ordering app, as indicated by the survey.
