Kalank was Karan Johar father’s dream project which was supposed to be made in the early 2000s with SRK and Ajay Devgn. But it never happened. Karan is trying to fulfill his father’s dream by making it very grand. The star cast of Kalank includes Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, and Madhuri Dixit. Pritam composes the music.

Karan Johar is the latest victim of Baahubali syndrome. KJo has always said he wanted to make films mounted on a lavish scale. Now he is making not one but two such films, Kalank and Takht.
The teaser of Kalank directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar was released this week and it has shades of Baahubali in terms of canvas, set design and action. The bullfight of Rana is replicated in Kalank with Varun and many of the sets showcased have the grandeur of Baahubali.
