Summer Blockbuster of 2019 Tollywood
Every producer wants to cash in on the summer season as the audience wants to spend some cool time in an AC theater as compared to the red hot weather outside. Also, the holiday season for children and college-going youth is the biggest added advantage. So many movies are targetting summer season this year to set the cash registers ringing.
Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi
Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi is the biggest of them all. The film, releasing on the 9th of May, will be looking to become non-Baahubali hit by crossing Rangasthalam which collected a share of approximately 120 crores worldwide. Mahesh ‘s last film Bharat Ane Nenu ended up collecting around 95 crore share. So it’s now a matter of prestige for superstar Mahesh to break Rangasthalam records and emerge as the Top star.
Majili
Majili is red hot among the trade and audience with a great star cast, good music, and crew. The film has been sold to good prices, way more than Naga Chaitanya’s market and inside reports suggest that the film will bring profit to everyone concerned. Majili is all set to release on 5th of April.
Jersey, on the other hand, is a risky project. It’s a cricket-based story which does have its share of pros and cons. If the word of mouth is good, it can do wonders like Lagaan. Nani is desperate to score a hit after last two flops. Shraddha Srinath will be also looking to score a good hit with her debut film. The film is all set to release on 19th of April.
Arjun Suravarm, a remake of Tamil movie Kanithan, is a make or break for Nikhil who isn’t going great guns since last two years. This crime thriller has been postponed many times and also was involved in a title controversy. The film might again be postponed from 29th March due to Lakshmi’s NTR slated to release on the same date.
Ram and Puri Jagannadh haven’t seen a hit in a long time. They would be hoping ‘Ismart Shankar’ will be their ticket to the path of success again. Nidhi Aggarwal also needs a hit in her career after a flop like Mr. Majnu. The film is targetting summer though the exact release date is not known. Charmee, one of the producers of the film is making a lot of noise on social media to promote the film.
Sai Dharam Tej after double hattrick of disasters is going through the worst phase of his career. he needs a good comeback and he is hoping Chitralahari will be that film. The teaser evoked good response and the film is generating positive buzz. Directed by Kishore Thirumala, the film has Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nivetha Pethuraj as the leading ladies. DSP scores the music. The film is releasing on 12th April 2019.
Allu Sirish starrer ABCD is an official Telugu remake of Malayalam movie with the same title starring Dulquar Salman. The shooting of the film is already completed but the makers haven’t locked the official release date yet. It was to release this summer but due to reasons unknown might not make it this summer.
Lawrence’s dubbed movie Kanchana 3, Niharika Konidela’s Suryakantham will also try to cash in on the Summer season.
Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade is all set to release on 31st May 2019 and is going to clash with Suriya’s NGK. The teaser has received a tremendous response and people are in complete awe of the sizzling chemistry of Rowdy Babu and Rashmika Mandanna. This one should be another hit for Deverakonda who seems to have found the success formula.
Avengers — EndGame the Baap of all films in terms of hype and curiosity is also releasing this summer on April 26th. It is sure to smash all records at the box office and emerge a blockbuster.
