Trick-shot IFL kicker with 80-yard range tries out for the Patriots
Kicker Josh Gable played for the IFL’s Nebraska Danger, but he’s now looking to take his game to the next level, as ESPN’s Mike Reiss noted that he’s working out with the New England Patriots.
One of Gable’s biggest assets as he tries to steal Stephen Gostkowski’s job is that he can kick it through the uprights from 80 yards out.
He can also kick the ball without the use of a holder, if needed:
Trick shots are fun to watch and 80 yards sounds like an impressive range. That being said, a lot of what he can do isn’t useful at the NFL level, and there’s no telling if he can hit from 80 yards out with a rush. The IFL uses smaller goalposts, so the former soccer player is 29 for 80 at that level.
