There are basically 16 vowels in English, including monophthongs and diphthongs. Some of them might be colored by R or L. Besides there are around 21 consonants, categorized by nasal, fricative, stop, trill, plosive traits. It’s easily to make mistake by using similar sounds from your language, but what seems like subtle difference to us can mean a huge to native speaker.

It’s good to review common words and check their pronunciation. For daily usage, the numbers of most commonly used words should not exceed 3000. It’s also good practice to relearn words by topics.
