Gunners claim league glory: The first of many victories for SWAP clubs

It’s official. Arsenal Ladies are the Women’s Super League champions, and they secured the title in terrific fashion on Sunday afternoon!

Arsenal Women won the Women’s Super League title at Brighton on Sunday

The Gunners made swift work of Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies, winning 4–0 away from home with Vivianne Miedema getting the first inside just six minutes. Goals from Katie McCabe, Beth Mead and Danielle van de Donk secured the points, as Arsenal claimed the title with one game to spare.

Now on 51 points, four clear of second-placed Manchester City, Arsenal host their title rivals at Meadow Park next Saturday, where they will finally get their hands on the coveted trophy.

It is their first WSL title in seven years, and so is one that manager Joe Montemurro and his players will remember fondly.
