NICO SCHULZ
Confirming the capture of Schulz, a 26-year-old left back born in Berlin, Dortmund have secured the services of one of Germany’s highest-rated players.
Schulz arrives in Dortmund with a £23.7million price tag on his back and so much will be expected of the former Hoffenheim defender as Dortmund prepare to launch another title bid next season.
However, if anything should be taken from Schulz’s efforts this season, the Borusse should not be disappointed come the 2019/20 campaign. Schulz made 30 appearances this season for Hoffenheim, scoring once but providing six assists — not a bad return from a left back.
THORGAN HAZARD
Brother of Chelsea star Eden, Hazard has been going out about his business at Monchengladbach and has established himself as a genuine threat to any opposition from left wing.
Also 26 years old, Hazard was part of the Belgium side that claimed third place at last summer’s World Cup in Russia and took the confidence from that achievement. In all competitions, the winger scored 10 goals in 33 appearances and provided 12 assists also — so Dortmund’s forwards can be sure of some excellent service from out wide next term.
