Jeremy Rifkin makes a fair point in “A change of Heart about Animals” regarding the welfare of animals and questioning the morals of man. He checks his facts and supports them with scientific studies. I believe in what he says about animals having self-awareness and a sense of individualism. Also that adaptation is a big factor for animals. How Chantek the orangutan grooms himself while using a mirror. It is phenomenal and amazing the mind of an animal.

I feel that Rifkin can expand his argument by offering up more evidence of animals doing things. Rather than, comparing their lives with that of a human. To show that animals are in fact intelligent creatures and need guidance to evolve them. To help them grow and achieve. To not look at animals in a feral way since they adapt and learn.`
