Re “Return to the Teenage Brain” by Richard Friedman shows the ability of the adolescent brain. The idea that during critical periods of brain development, the neural circuits are being sculpted and are sensitive to change. During brain development, we can learn and adapt more efficiently. Once the brain passses through its formative years, experiences and abilities are hard to change.
. The most important time to adapt and learn new is during brain development. Friedman shows us different experiments to open and shut periods in brain development. These experiments may alter the brain and create a new effect on the brain. Overall, believing that altering the brain may restrict it from its full potential. Some think nature intended the brain to have sensitive periods and that tampering with the brain may risk change in personality. Our brains are constantly working and changing, therefore we should adapt into creating good habits.
