The fantasy football season is slowly coming upon us, and with this starts rankings season. As the summer has begun I have finished projecting each team and player statistics. Based off these projections come my rankings for each position. For this article I have combined my projected four-point per passing touchdown point totals with my six-point per passing touchdown ranks for a definitive quarterback rankings. (Players may jump a spot or two depening on scoring format).
Within this article I will list out my Top 25 quarterbacks for the coming season and discuss a few names who I am a few spots higher or lower on than the expert consensus on FantasyPros. If you would like to discuss anything more feel free to find me on Twitter @celslagerFL.

Higher Than Consensus
Tom Brady (Me: 9, Consensus: 11)
We haven’t seen Brady have the receiving weapons he will have in Tampa Bay in a long time. Combine that with playing in a pass happy Bruce Arians lead offense, and we could see a bounce back in stats this season from Brady. Though he didn’t throw the ball deep much in New England, the opportunity to do so exists more in a Tampa Bay offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski. Last season he actually had the ninth highest completion percentage on deep ball. Add better pass options in Tampa Bay and likely more of a willingness to throw the ball deep, Brady is due for another solid fantasy season this year.
Gardner Minshew (Me: 21, Consensus: 24)
While I am not sold that Minshew is the franchise quarterback in Jacksonville, or that he will even be the starter going into the 2021 season, for fantasy this year I am buying into him as a viable option in 2 QB or Superflex leagues. The Jaguars are supposed to be very bad this season and that includes on defense. Because of this they will need to throw the ball a lot, which provides plenty of opportunity for Minshew. Last season we saw his efficiency running the football and while he likely won’t be as efficient this coming season, he will likely continue to run the football creating a viable floor for fantasy. In 2 QB or Superflex leagues, I would definitely be looking for him late in drafts.
Lower than Consensus
Ryan Tannehill (Me: 23, Consensus: 17)
Last season’s run for Tannehill was incredible, but it will not happen again. According to Next Gen Stats Tannehill had an eight percent higher completion percentage than expected last season. He also threw a touchdown on 7.7 percent of his pass attempts, well above his career and the NFL average. Based off these statistics and the abnormality of them, Tannehill is due to regress closer to the mean, and I am not ready to buy in on one great half of football, which is well above what was expected and well above the average.
