Picks & Preview for Sunday’s Round 3 of 49ers and Rams

Who’s ready for Round 3 of 49ers and Rams? The first matchup of the year on Monday Night Football was a bit of a blowout, but the Week 18 showdown in LA was a thriller. The Rams had a chance to keep the 49ers out of the playoffs but San Francisco wouldn’t be denied and came from behind down 17–0 to win and stamp their postseason bid. And of course, the Rams are going to have to go through those same 49ers if they want to stay home for the Super Bowl. Here’s what I’m playing, and where I’m playing it for the NFC Championship game

Robbie Gould OVER 1.5 Made FG (+110) — Caesars

You bet your ass I’m starting off my picks with a kicker bet. I for the life of me don’t get why there’s plus money on this prop. Gould has made 2+ field goals in each of the last 3 games. He’s 7 for 7 in field goal attempts vs the Rams this season. He’s made 2+ field goals in every playoff game he’s played in as a 49er and he’s 20 for 20 in his playoff career. Really hope I’m not jinxing that streak. Oh by the way, he also made a pretty important kick last weekend in case any Packers fans missed that.

49ers +3.5 (-110) — FanDuel

I’m not sure if San Francisco is going to be able to make it 3 for 3 against the Rams this season, but I’d be really surprised if this wasn’t a very tightly contested game. Both of these teams are really good, and the 49ers style of play makes it really hard to pull away from them. They run the ball as well as anyone, they play really good defense especially up front. The don’t give you the football all that often. I haven’t decided if I’m going to sprinkle the ML at +148, but I really like that hook on the line at +3.5.

Tyler Higbee Anytime TD Scorer (+210) — DraftKings

Higbee only has 5 touchdowns on the season, but 3 of those have come against San Francisco. Tight Ends have had success in the redzone against the 49ers this season, and Higbee has been a prime example of that. 3 TDs in 2 games, including 2 in their Week 18 matchup. At more than 2/1 I like that prop.

49ers to win & both teams to score 20+ points (+400) — BetMGM

This one is listed in the rotating carousel of props when you click into the 49ers/Rams game on BetMGM. Not sure who’s going to win this one, but in the dome with how efficient these offenses are I think they both clear the 20-point mark. And at that point it just becomes a Moneyline bet. I think +400 for this is too good of value to pass up. If you like the 49ers, then you can double down and get some really good odds. If you like the Rams, this could be good value to hedge with.
