Pretty much sums up last weeks article

Well, week six was a bit rough for streaming. Only one of the five options given here returned any kind of value. Oops. The overall scoring for defenses was down last week, and teams like Washington, Miami and Dallas were in the top 10 while facing teams that were in the bottom 10 of fantasy points allowed to opposing defenses. Crazy week. At least Tennessee proved a viable option to save some face.

This week there are a few decent match ups. All of the recommendations are based on ownership percentages of less than 50 percent in ESPN leagues, so keep that in mind. This week, if, for whatever reason, the Bengals, Bills or Patriots are available, grab them before anyone below. With that said, let’s look at the options.

Big Blue needs to come up big in London

New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams (in London)

The Giants’ defense has been a little lackluster at times, but nothing remedies that like the Rams (except for last week apparently). While the Rams were able to create some big plays against the Lions, New York has allowed only six touchdown passes to opponents. The Rams have given up the third most fantasy points to defenses, and are giving up the 11th most sacks along with the 10th most giveaways. While the Giants are not currently excelling in those departments, the Rams should help them.

Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets

After being benched at the end of last weeks game, Ryan Fitzpatrick has given way to Geno Smith, which is still good news for streamers. The Jets are dead last in points allowed to fantasy defenses thanks to all the turnovers. Smith has thrown 36 interceptions in 29 career starts. The Ravens are top five in the NFL in takeaways, and the Jets have given the ball to opponents the second most times. Basically, the Ravens will get turnovers in this game, which will lead to plenty of points.

Tennessee Titans hosting the Indianapolis Colts

The Titans defense has performed pretty strongly the last couple of weeks, recording six sacks in each of the last two games. The Colts have allowed the most sacks in the NFL, and it isn’t close. Andrew Luck will be running for his life this game, and he has thrown in interception in four of six games along with two lost fumbles. Sacks plus a turnover equals points for Tennessee, making them a pretty good option to stream at home.

If you are feeling desperate….

We are so glad we don’t have to wear those creamsicle uniforms, amiright?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers

The Bucs’ defense is not great, but has been playing pretty decent recently. The 49ers for their part are 27th in fantasy points allowed to defenses, have given up the seventh most turnovers and are allowing the 11th most sacks. For a desperation play, you could do worse.

Oakland Raiders at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are not as good a team to target in streaming as they were a year ago, but they still are a team that you can target. They are 22nd in fantasy points allowed to defenses, had have allowed the ninth most sacks. Despite allowing a lot of points, Oakland’s defense is eighth in takeaways, while Jacksonville is 10th in giveaways, which is what makes this match up intriguing and worth a desperation play in some leagues.
