TaxAct Texas Bowl: LSU Tigers vs. Kansas State Wildcats (-7) O/U 47.5

Phil: Torn on this one. Brain Kelly is a very good coach, but they are down tons of players and coaches. I think BK will do everything to get these guys motivated, but at the end of the day knows he won’t be judged too harshly for his opening game (because of rosters etc). This one will be close, but KSU hangs on and covers. It will be very weird seeing Kelly in the purple though, gotta be honest. Pick: KSU (-7)

Matt: Wow has this line swung in KSU’s direction. LSU’s roster is mess for this bowl game with opt outs and transfers amidst the head coaching change to Brian Kelly. The Tigers will likely head into the Texas Bowl with just 39 scholorship players. Kansas State heads into this one in a much better situation than LSU and quite frankly they’ll probably take this bowl game much more seriously. I think the Wildcats control the ball and the game for the most part. Pick: KSU -7, UN 47.5
