Picks & Preview for Friday’s games

We got back on track last night with a nice 3–1 effort thanks two my two old reliables, the Panthers and the Avalanche. Another nice slate of games tonight in the NHL including a showdown of two Eastern Conference contenders. I’m getting my lines from FanDuel today. If you haven’t signed up with them yet you can do that HERE and get a risk free but up to $1,000 when you make your initial deposit.

Rangers vs Hurricanes OVER 6 (-102)

This should be a REALLY fun matchup between two teams contending to win the East. Both teams come into this one fairly healthy and playing pretty good hockey. The Rangers have won 4 of 5 and are averaging close to 4 goals per game in those 5. The Hurricanes have won two in a row and have outscored their opponents 11–2 in that pair of games, so their offense is clicking. The risk you run with this over is that both projected starters in net, Igor Shesterkin and Freddy Andersen have had very good seasons. But both teams come in with a lot of fire power, and this one feels like a fun back and forth between two legit contenders.

Panthers vs Canucks OVER 7 (+110)

Ok, maybe this one is a LITTLE BIT of a reach, but there’s some logic here. The Panthers are playing as good offensively as anyone right now. They’re playing for the 3rd time in 4 nights, so I expect them to have some tired legs defensively. Sergei Bobrovsky won’t be in net tonight most likely as he played last night, and Florida’s backups have been just OK. The Canucks have fresh legs and their starting goaltender in Thatcher Demko is out. Vancouver hasn’t played in 3 nights and they haven’t played in front of their home crowd since December 14th, so that should be a fired up group and fanbase. Hit that over and hope for some goals!

Blues -1.5 (+140) vs Kraken

This is a tough spot for the Kraken. They’ve won back to back games 3–2, but they’ll be playing their second game in as many nights. The Blues have fresh legs not having played since the 17th. The Blues are a really good team, the Kraken are a really bad team. If you’re going to give me a +140 puck line on a really good team with fresh legs against a bad team with tired legs I’ll take that value every time.
