Picks & Preview for Wednesday’s slate

Just a 1–2 day yesterday, but with a pair of national games on TNT tonight we’re going to get right back at it. Less picks today but who knows, maybe that’s a good thing. Headed back to FanDuel for my odds today, if you haven’t signed up with them yet you can do that HERE and get a risk-free bet up to $1,000. Let’s get to the picks:

Maple Leafs vs Rangers OV 5.5 (-112)

The Maple Leafs have been one of the best offensive teams in hockey this season scoring just under 3.40 goals per game and come into this one having scored 4+ goals in 4 of their last 5. The Rangers have one of the better goaltenders in hockey this season in Igor Shesterkin, but they’re also coming off a long road trip and haven’t played in 3 nights; two factors that often lend to slow starts. It makes me slightly nervous that both teams have very good goaltending, but given the Rangers layoff and return from the road I like the Leafs to score a bit tonight. Which of course means they’ll probably get shutout.

Cale Makar OV 0.5 Goals (+240)

We’re going back to the well with this one. Makar didn’t score on Monday vs Minnesota, but he was all over the ice picking up an assist and had 6 shots on goal. He’s right there and the Ducks are in a little bit of a tailspin having lost 4 of their last 5. I think Colorado scores tonight, and if you’re giving me +240 on Makar to snap the 3 game goal-less streak I’m going to take it.
