We are in the final stretch of the fantasy season. We have reached Week 8, which leaves most of us five weeks before the playoffs start. We had a lot of great games and performances this week. Chief players just continue to dominate in fantasy, and Todd Gurley looks as though he can’t be stopped. We have four teams on a bye again this week all with strong fantasy assets in the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and Tennessee Titans. With some great matchups this week and, of course, some good players going down to injury last week, check out my ranks below to help set your best lineup. As always may the fantasy gods be ever in your favor and grant you a win in Week 8.

Quarterbacks

Guys this just in, Patrick Mahomes is really, really good. He finished as the No. 1 quarterback yet again, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Mitch Trubisky came through as well last week not just in passing the ball, but also rushing. While we didn’t see any QB injuries this past week we do have guys like Deshaun Watson and Matthew Stafford struggling this year. My pick outside the Top 12 who could jump into it this week is Matthew Stafford.

  1. Aaron Rodgers- 26.7
  2. Patrick Mahomes- 25.4
  3. Kirk Cousins- 24.3
  4. Andrew Luck-23.3
  5. Jameis Winston- 23.1
  6. Drew Brees- 22.8
  7. Tom Brady- 22.7

  23. Sam Darnold- 16.9
  24. Alex Smith- 16.5
  25. Brock Osweiler- 16.2

Running Backs

Sony Michel went down last week, and at the time it looked as though he may be done for the year. Luckily he just has a MCL sprain and likely will only miss two to four weeks. Carlos Hyde was traded to the Jaguars as it looks as though Leonard Fournette is going to be out for a long time. With Hyde gone we got to see our first look at Nick Chubb as the lead back in Cleveland, and while he struggled some he came through for fantasy. Lastly we saw Devonta Freeman and Marshawn Lynch placed on the IR. Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith will fill in for Freeman, while Oakland will be relying on Doug Martin and Jalen Richard. My pick outside the Top 12 who could jump into it this week is Kenyan Drake.

Wide Receivers

Adam Thielen tied the record this past week with seven straight games of 100 yards receiving. He has also scored in five games now and has been flat out amazing all season. Odell Beckham, Jr., finally came through for all his owners this week putting up more than 100 yards and scoring. Tyreek Hill continues to wreak havoc on opposing defenses, and Emmanuel Sanders and his connection with Case Keenum has jumped him into WR1 territory this year. My pick outside the Top 12 who could jump into it this week is John Brown.

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz has continued to quiet his doubters as he put up a 100 yard receiving game this past week, even though his counterpart and teammate Dallas Goedert scored. George Kittle continues to be the apple of C.J. Beathard’s eye as he got him a touchdown and 80 yards. Gronk sat out last week due to his back, though it looks likely that he’ll play this week. Eric Ebron struggled some but should be good to go with a good matchup this week, and Jack Doyle could return soon. David Njoku has continued to rise up the tight end board and might be a Top 5 option when its all said and done. My pick outside the Top 12 who could jump into it this week is Kyle Rudolph.

  1. Rob Gronkowski- 15.4
  2. Travis Kelce- 15.0
