An Escape
As she put on her headset, the light in the room faded into the darkness of the screen. It was like the screen loaded up and all her school and home troubles simply melted away. From the real world to the vertical world, which in some ways is smaller but has the potential to become so much more than the real world.
As the small blue bar scrolled across the screen she thought about her game and it opened to all her saved avatars. She chose her favorite one and entered into the world of NAW.
Her avatar was the complete opposite of the way she looked in real life. She had dark purple hair and a single bright blue streak going down one side to cover her ear. Her skin was gray and she chose a white tee with a black jacket with long pointed shoulder pads. Black and purple pants with spikes that pointed outward from each side, running from her hip to her ankle.
Finally, the part she liked best. The huge sword rested on her back. With the handle that went over her head. In the room it was for display purposes only but it had been very useful in the past on missions.
