Development Progress

Fantom has made great technical progress over the past week.

Achievements includes the following:

  • Our testnet is now operational and is a continued work in progress. Currently it is running amongst 4 nodes, and has been integrated into the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing us to test its ability to confirm smart contract transactions. Note: the EVM will be used temporarily only to prove the performance of Opera Core, pending Fantom’s own virtual machine.
  • Current finality is achieved within 300ms given a configuration of 100ms per event block.
  • Testnet dapp development is ongoing, with a planned launch within Q3.
  • Development of visualizers and block explorers for the testnet is ongoing.
  • Three technical positioning documents to be released this week.
