Fanvest’s W2 Weekly Recap
What did we learn from the second week of fanvesting?
W2 Weekly Recap
After a wild W1 filled with upsets, order was restored in W2. There was only one underdog, team with a share price < $FBX 50, that pulled out the win in W2. However, that lone underdog victory had a massive impact on the leaderboard since it came on Monday Night Football, when the stakes are highest in Fanvest Weekly contests.
A good chunk of fanvestors were knocked out before the week even started, after going all-in on Joe Burrow to pull off the upset on Thursday Night Football. Below we’ll review why all primetime games are so important.
Week 2 Winners
Here’s how the leaderboard shook out for Week 2:
- Avg Top 5 Score: $FBX 54,228
- Avg 6–10 Score: $FBX 17,755
- Top 11–50 Score: $FBX 6,492
Since fanvestors are allowed to reinvest their fanbucks from winning teams, winning portfolios will continue to grow throughout the week as more games are played.
This compounding effect raises the stakes for all Primetime games:
- Thursday Night Football: Fanvestors who win on TNF will earn more fanbucks heading into the weekend
- Sunday Night Football: Portfolio Values are the highest after a full day of trading, so fanvestors can buy significantly more shares than usual.
- Monday Night Football: Same concept as SNF, except the stakes are twice as high. Winners are determined on MNF.
Below we break out the combined holdings for all users in the Top 50:
With more than 5x invested in LV than any other team among W2 Winners, it’s easy to see how important it is to pick the Monday Night winner.
Trading Spotlight
Let’s take a look into the strategies of some of the top fanvestors
All users in the Top 10 had unique trading strategies throughout the weekend, but they shared one common trait: they all went all — in on LV.
Fanvestor Spotlight — Jacques_34 | 1st Place with $FBX 56,509
Jacques_34 waited until the stakes were highest to take a risk on a big underdog, and that patience paid off. They were able to produce consistent returns via favorites throughout the week, before going all — in on LV on Monday night.
Fanvestor Spotlight — Will.Culpepper | 6th Place with $FBX 27,018
The diversified approach paid off for Will. Even though he missed on his Falcons investment Sunday afternoon, his other investments balanced out the loss so he still had significant capital to deploy on LV.
Fanvestor Spotlight — Kate.potterfield | 11th Place with $FBX 13,514
Kate was dangerously close to a Top 5 finish. If MIA pulled out the W against BUF, Kate would have received ~ $FBX 3,500 for her MIA shares ($FBX 1,122 / share price of ~$FBX 32 = ~35 shares). Using that $FBX 3,500 boost, she would have been able to purchase an additional 175 shares of LV, which would have returned +$FBX 17,500!
