For the launch of the new FANZONE Racing Zone we’re premiering with Formula E driver Maximilian Günther.

FANZONE.io, Germany’s leading multisports NFT platform, is launching the official Maximilian Günther NFT collection on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. This is the first official NFT collection of a German racing driver, also supporting a good cause. Being an ambassador of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), a significant portion of the revenue from the sales this season will be donated to IFAW, which is a global animal welfare and conservation organisation helping animals and people thrive together.

The Maximilian Günther collection features 2 kinds of mystery boxes, each containing a hidden NFT. The 5010 starters boxes, contain 1 of 5 digital trading cards, each limited to 1000 Mints, introducing the Nissan e.dams Formula E driver. The other 625 mystery boxes, contain a random digital art piece made by Belgium designer Dominique Lobbestael, highlighting Maximilian’s rise from a 6-year-old kart driver to becoming the youngest Formula E race winner in history.

There will be 3 classes of rarity, going from Rare (limited to 1000), Legendary (100) and Special (25 -50). Each mystery box will grant a chance to obtain any of the three categories, though the chances of receiving Legendary & Special NFTs will of course be lower.

The NFT owners will have a chance to receive to receive unique perks and rewards from Maximilian Günther, including exclusive video interviews of him commenting his career moments, as well as an opportunity to have a video call with him or even meeting Maximilian in person.

Born in 1997, Maximilian Günther is one of three German drivers currently active in Formula E. Günther fought his way up through junior series, Formula 3, Formula 2 securing a first spot in a Formula E cockpit in 2018. Showcasing his driving skills he received a contract from GEOX Dragon Racing in 2018, then moved to BMW I Andretti Motorsport from 2019–2021, winning his first 3 Formula E races in Santiago, Berlin and New York. In September 2021 Günther transferred to Nissan e.dams, where he wants to win his first Formula E championship.

„I’m active in a highly competitive and innovative environment in Formula E. I love what I’m doing and that Nissan is pacing the way to a more sustainable future,” says Günther. “I am super thankful to FANZONE and the artist Dominique Lobbestael for bringing these NFTs to life. To me future-driven technologies like blockchain and NFTs are a giant leap in the development of the online world. It’s an entirely new way of interacting with your fans. I want to explore the positive possibilities of this new technology with my Eco-NFTs. For me it’s all about better connecting with my fans and using my fame as an IFAW ambassador to raise awareness about the importance of animal and nature conservation.”

FANZONE’s Eco-NFTs are listed on the Polygon blockchain, an Ethereum sidechain, which is considered a “green” blockchain. The Polygon blockchain consumes 99,9% less energy on ETH 2.0 than other NFTs on Ethereum due to proof-of-stake. Unlike proof-of-work, Polygon uses proof-of-stake validation, which ensures very low power consumption. Environmental protection is of course also our top priority with NFTs.

Since this year Maximilian Günther is an ambassador of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), a global non-profit helping animals and people thrive together. A significant share of the revenue from the NFT sales will be donated to the IFAW. On some special NFTs the animals and work of IFAW is depicted as Mandalas, an Indian art form. Mandala means infinity in Buddhism. The artwork is a reference to the blockchain, where the NFT stays forever in the Metaverse.

In the case of Maximilian synergies collide being an integral part of an innovative racing series and pushing the boundaries of fan-engagement with blockchain technology.

During this year’s Formula E season more exclusive und limited NFTs will follow during race weeks. The Maximilian Günther NFTs will be available on https://www.fanzone.io/maximilianguenther/

WHAT ARE NFTs?

NFTs become much easier to understand once you break down the term. NFT stand for non-fungible token. When something is non-fungible, it means it is unique. A token meanwhile is a digital certificate of authenticity. An NFT, therefore, proves your ownership of an asset that cannot be replicated. When it comes to collectibles, there is simply no higher standard of security and authenticity.

The blockchain technology manages data in a distributed infrastructure without a central instance in a traceable and tamper-proof manner by consensus (in agreement). With blockchain technology, it is possible to verify transactions — for example, in payment transactions with cryptocurrencies, in a trustworthy and transparent manner without a central instance.
