We are all Sinners. #KadviHawa

24th November 2017. The clock struck 6 in the evening when the entire FarmGuide team decided to watch the film ‘Kadvi Hawa’.

The film unravels one of the major challenges faced by a farmer i.e Climate Change. We witnessed a thought provoking message being delivered to the entire nation with every single frame of the film.

Deeply moved by the film and the dialogue ‘Paap Ho Gayo Humse’, we decided to make this big. We decided to shout out to our entire nation that it is time we open our eyes and feel the farmer’s struggle and apprehensions.

This thought in our minds gave rise to the ‘Paap_Ho_Gayo_Humse’ campaign. It all started with a poem ‘I am a Sinner’ which went out on every social media platform. Farmers in India face much more problems than we could ever imagine. This poem reflects each and every hardship faced by a farmer.

Sanjai Mishra, the lead actor in Kadvi Hawa and Nila Madhab Panda, the Director of the film showered their love and support by re-tweeting the poem on Twitter.

This did not stop here. The campaign spread its wings with more meaningful content based on how an individual can bring change in a farmer’s life. The more support we received, the more confident we became of reaching our target — Information Symmetry in Agriculture

FarmGuide — Lifestyle Quote

The messages got delivered and people over social media started liking and sharing the posts. Every single word written during the campaign reflects the work we do and the intent we have to bring a revolution in the farmer lives.

We need support. Support of every single individual to eradicate information asymmetry in Agriculture. Every farmer needs to know about the information related to his farm, weather, market and every aspect related to farming.

FarmGuide — ‘Farming Chose Us’ poem

Having worked extremely hard on digitizing traditional farming methods from the last 3 years, we decided to get into the shoes of the farmer and deliver the most thought provoking messages that make people realize the pain and hardships in farming.

FarmGuide — Food Wastage Quote

We want people to realize the fact that, even a tiny drop of kindness towards farmers can create an endless ripple of happiness for them.

We get so busy in out life that we don’t find time to think about the hardships that farmer face on a daily basis. It is our responsibility to extend our support as farmers grapple with challenges in the sector.

FarmGuide — Diwali Quote

We sincerely believe that there are many people out there who would really like to help if they could. All they need is a reliable medium.

We are ready to help farmers. But how do we know that our contribution has benefited a farmer?

This is the question that arises in the mind of anyone who is willing to contribute. FarmGuide has an answer.

Farmer needs information. Information related to weather, crops, market rates, government schemes and contingency situations. This information can help his farm produce better crops and earn him good amount of money. You can get a deeper insight about these information services in our next blog,

How 60 INR can change a farmer life?

The information services available in the market currently are expensive and the farmersmdo not find themselves in a position to afford them.

Now, if we extend these information services to every farmer in India for just 60 INR, would you be kind enough to donate 60 INR to a farmer?

What if we tell you about a platform where you can directly donate to a farmer, talk to him, look at his complete farm details, and know his financial position?

Would you wish to receive an expression of gratitude from a farmer who has received information services through your donated money? Can you imagine how grateful a farmer would be to you? Have you ever experienced this feeling of sheer happiness?

We, at FarmGuide, are proud to say that we have experienced happiness. We consider our mission to provide information services to farmers and bring information symmetry in agriculture, would be fate changing for the farmers.

As a part of this mission, we wanted to educate people about the hardships faced by farmers. The campaign Paap_Ho_Gayo_Humse is our attempt towards the same.

The same idea resulted in a decision to create an online platform.

A platform where people can constantly stay in touch with the farmers they helped and know how their donation helped farmers overcome their difficulties.

A Farmer does everything to get the best out of his farm and feed us everyday. Through this platform, we just want to say that this is the time for change.

A change in the mindsets of people. A change that can ignite the fire in everyone to pay the farmers back. A change that will drive everyone to donate.

You donate, they thrive.
