We’ve been busy working away here at Farside HQ on some very exciting stuff… and thought now would be a great time to reach out and let you know a little more about some of what we are up to. Perhaps you’ve seen our social media updates as we have been active in the start-up community, helping clients accelerate their teams, or getting excited about our new data driven team acceleration platform. There’s so much more to come on that last one… stay tuned! Community. Knowledge. Tools. We are committed to advancing on all three fronts and we invite you to follow along as we pursue our mission!

True Colors and the Bomb Squad

Virtual reality in action!

This half-day workshop allows your team to complete a True Colors personality inventory assessment, determine their communication style and put it all to use in a virtual reality team building exercise working as a bomb squad! Want a realistic VR situation to get them pulling hard together? We have it! This team exercise will push your communication skills to the limit as you work together to solve different and ever changing scenarios made even more challenging (and fun!) by the use of virtual reality. Teams will have to work together against the clock to defuse the bomb, and make sure nobody explodes (in the game — or at each other!)

Manager 101 Training

What does it really take to be a great manager?

Our Manager 101 Series is specifically designed for new managers in a start-up setting. Our courses are designed to prepare a manager for this new challenge through a combination of engaging lectures, discussions, activities and group exercises. We tackle all the hot topics, including building engagement, managing underperformance, delivering feedback, effective delegation, establishing a team culture and so much more. Taking things beyond theory and philosophy, we culminate our training by connecting theory to intention, allowing managers to design their own action plans.

1:1 Workshop

Is your company having effective 1:1 conversations?

Our 1:1 workshop is a fantastic opportunity to ensure your company is getting the most out of their 1:1s. Our movie-themed course uses classic film examples (think Mufasa, Mary Poppins and Morpheus!) to tap into the idea of approaching management as a coach or mentor. We share our Farside 3 act 1:1 framework and methodology, along with a set of sample questions and prompts to get managers going. Participants learn about best practices, useful feedback techniques and the power of questions. We cap off each workshop with an opportunity to practice what we’ve learned, engaging in practice 1:1s with a partner.
