Head in the Clouds: Aquamarine Daydreams

S/S15 Fashion Colour Trend

November, a.k.a. Press Days month! Not that I can complain.. for those who live and breathe fashion these are daily celebrations and explorations of upcoming trends. Last week I had the opportunity to attend another Press Day, this time put together by Rainbow Wave. Their beautiful showroom in Camden was arranged so perfectly it made me long for summer already.

Looking at the collections of both emerging talent and established designers key colours for S/S15 were cooler and softer shades of blue, paired with innocent whites at times, with bold colour taking a supportive role as an accent.

Each x Other are a synonym of art meets fashion and their S/S15 pieces stayed true to the brand. Dreamy blue was a predominant colour of choice, running through most of the collection. The all-whites we are used to seeing every summer felt refreshed when paired with this nuance. A statement piece was their, as I call it, blue sky action jacket which really reinforces what the company stands for — piece-of-art masculine clothes for women.

The milky blue & cotton candy white combo was to be seen in almost every exhibiting designer’s collection at the press day which comes as no surprise, as these colours fall in the Pantone S/S15 fashion report. The combinations take a cue from nature, magical worlds and tropical landscapes to restore a sense of well-being and create a calming, stress-free environment.
