Current mood…

GUYS! Guys, I’m freaking. If you’re not, or you don’t know why I am, let me get you all up to speed! I am a long time, die hard fan of the clothing brand, American Apparel. Known for their comfy sweaters, velvet dresses, funky stockings, sexy body suits, must have crop tops (I could go on and on) they have been a brand of clothing I’ve grown very attached to — Which brings me to this article today. I simply HAVE to comment on the fact that they are closing down, for good! WHAT?

According to Leah Melby Clinton of Elle, “After declaring bankruptcy in the fall of 2015, the brand announced it’s shuttering its L.A. headquarters and all 110 American stores, with the last door to close in April.” 😢 Apparently, they have been bought out by a Canadian clothing brand, says Laura Beck of Cosmopolitan, “Canadian brand Gildan Activewear won an auction to acquire the failing brand’s intellectual property…” In short, no more of your favorite basic wardrobe must haves — brb, crying.

Oh, American Apparel, not only are the clothes awesome, but one main factor that made me appreciate them more is that all of the clothes are made in the U.S. They pride themselves on being sweatshop free! That’s pretty damn cool, if you ask me. Sure, the clothing might be a little pricier, but come on, it’s made in the U.S., so you know the quality is top notch! Be sure to stock up on your favorites while you can! With that being said, I will truly miss you, American Apparel! Here are some photos of me rockin’ just a few of my favorite purchases — reminisce with me, yes?
