Fluctuating Seasons Can SUCK IT
Should I bring my PSL to the beach, or nah?
I actually hate PSLs…(pumpkin spiced lattes)
Is it summer or fall? How does one dress when the weather can’t seem to make up its mind? Don’t get me wrong, the longer we can squeeze out some gorgeous warm sun to bathe in, the happier I am. My issue is when it starts to get toward the middle of October and I could still get away with some shorts and a tank top! Im a die-hard autumn lover. Unfortunately, it’s a season that is gone too soon, but leaves a lasting impression. Kind of like your childhood bestfriend comes in from out of town! WHY MUST YOU LEAVE?
I never liked when the temps would soar past the 70s. I hate sweat (who likes it, though?). I love days where I can cozy up with a scarf or big flannel — it sings a tune that makes my heart dance. 🎶
So, let’s dive right into how I’ve been transitioning my wardrobe for the fall!
Just a little side note: I couldn’t find the exact item I’m wearing, so I either linked store site, or a similar piece of clothing.
It’s been a challenge, to say the least. I wake up at around 7am for work, and here in Jersey, it usually hovers around 50 degrees at that time — SWEET, break out the comfy sweater and boots! Uhh, wait hold on, a high of 80 by noon? WHAT THE WHAT. 🙄 I made the mistake of wearing sweats under my scrub pants, and then later left truly concerned about my poor life choices.
When the weather decides to cooperate, like it did last weekend, I take full advantage! It was only going to be a high of 70, so that meant, APPLE PICKING! A.J. and I took a trip to Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz, NY to fully douse ourselves in the spirit of fall. 🍎🍏 Check out what I wore. 👆🏼 Can’t go wrong with a flannel and some booties! Pretty sure this flannel belonged to my dad a while back. The light-wash boyfriend style Levi’s really tie the look together for the occasion! This outfit is functional in that I could slide the flannel down (as pictured) or even tie it around my waist if I got too hot. These ankle booties by Sam Edelman (purchased at Marshalls) are a perfect middle of the road pair of shoes for this time of year!
October is my favorite month for many reasons, apple/pumpkin picking, scary movies, cooler days/nights (we’re trying here), and HALLOWEEN, DUH! 👻🎃 We went pumpkin picking at Corrado’s and also picked up some other fall decor yesterday, and of course, the temps were in the 80s. That’s scary enough for me! LOL! This brings me to my next look 👇🏼
I was NOT giving up on my flannel obsession, OKAY! I was super happy to dig this long flannel/cardi out of my closet from Forever 21. I paired it with a navy blue body suit from American Apparel. You’ll notice I’m sporting my levis yet again (a while back I did mention somewhere they were gonna be a closet staple!) Finished the look off with my Lucky Brand open-toe booties online purchase at Macy’s and new sunnies from Feisedy that actually just arrived yesterday from Amazon. BOOM! Fall-tastic! The heat ain’t got nothin’ on me!
