Picture this: you’re invited to a swanky party that you need to get dressed up for (or at least look half decent). Your closet is a disaster, you haven’t been shopping in ages, you work crazy hours so you can’t even go shopping, you’ve been rockin sweats on the regs now — so dressing up? What’s that? What must be taken into consideration? Umm, EVERYTHING! Where is the event? What is the attire? What’s the weather going to be like? Well, since I am the most indecisive person in the world, it usually takes me some time to figure out what I consider to be a well-thought-out outfit. If it’s a big event or occasion, I’m usually planning this out way in advance. I’m very serious about my choice of outfit, and usually never fully satisfied, because, COME ON! — It could definitely be better! And so, panic mode kicks in and I look something like this… 👇🏼👇🏼

Awkward hands are awkward.

Don’t fret! A lot of your answers lie right in front of you! I’m a huge advocate for using what you already have. Take a breath, and head towards that closet of yours because you’re going to be surprised at what you put together!

New Year’s Day was our friend, Dan’s, first solo bar tending shift at Cowan’s Public. Our other friend, Matt, who also works there, was surprising Dan by having a lot of his friends and coworkers come out to support him. I was told to get dressed up or dress nice. Now, this wasn’t some HUGE event, but it was a pretty big deal that Dan is now bartending — Yay, Dan! Never-the-less, he works at this cute hipster bar, and I wanted to look cute, and well..hipster, damnit! My planning for this involved just thinking up some different ideas while I showered and got ready for that day. I’ve noticed that my style has been evolving a bit lately. I just feel different — in a good way! It’s helping me to experiment with my outfit choices!

“It is very put together with a hint of bad a$$!”

I already knew I wanted to wear a blazer. It was just a must for the occasion. But a blazer and what else? I wasn’t in the mood to wear a dress or skirt, so that was out. GOT IT! — which brings you this look right here! It is very put-together with a hint of bad a$$! #slay 💁🏽 I accessorized lightly with a choker necklace and a chain necklace that was a little longer. This is something new for me that I’ve really been liking. I also threw on some rings and a watch later on — keep it classy, my friends. There’s a rule about accessories. It’s something like put 3 on and take like all of them off, or some sh!t like that — Ehh, just wear whatever you want!

Let’s chat a little about my kneecaps! Note the fishnet stockings! I love this style. Starting this fashion blog lead me to seeing so many wonderful things on social media — one of them being this trend of wearing fishnets under jeans! What a time to be alive!

So what fun new trends have you been trying out lately? Do you notice your style starting to change a bit? Feel free to leave comment!
