Joe Cool Needs a New Home, Which Team is Up for the Challenge?

Any Baltimore fan will tell you that Joe Flacco’s days with the Baltimore Ravens are over. Now, it’s time to see which team is going to take a chance on the 34 year old veteran.

Many teams seem to be keen on Flacco’s services. Teams such as the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Miami Dolphins have seemed to show interest, while teams like the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, could use that experience and leadership to make a run at the playoffs next year. It’s clear that Flacco still possesses the skills to make a valid starter in an organization, but it could be tough for him to find employment. Another name that has been thrown around as an available quarterback is Philadelphia Eagles backup, Nick Foles. There is also a wealth of talent in the upcoming NFL draft, with names such as Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State, Drew Lock of Missouri, and Daniel Jones of Duke, who are all considered first or second round talent. Most mock drafts have Haskins going to the Giants 6th overall, and Daniel Jones going to the Redskins 15th overall.

Denver seems to be the most interested, after being disappointed with the performance of off-season signing, Case Keenum. New Broncos head coach Vic Fangio seems to be very interested in the veteran Flacco, after working with him for the first two years of his career. The move makes sense and would seem to be an improvement to the Denver offense, who already has pro-bowler, Philip Lindsay, seasoned veteran, Emmanuel Sanders, and another exciting and young wideout in Cortland Sutton.

My Take: This move would be incredibly interesting. Vic Fangio would be making a very interesting decision putting Flacco into another QB position battle. In my opinion, Flacco would be the starter, but one mistake, and it could be Case Keenum who is starting again. This would put him in an almost identical situation as the one in Baltimore. If it works out, it is a fantastic signing for the Broncos, but if not, there could be some tension in the Mile High City.
