Is Bhavna Talwar’s “Heidi: Queen of the Mountain” still coming!
Heidi: Queen of the Mountain, directed by Bhavna Talwar from a screenplay penned by Paul Watson, has apparently wrapped filming. The film, produced by Sheetal Vinod Talwar, Paul Watson, and Simon Wright, currently doesn’t have a specific release date.
The film, starring Samantha Allison as the titular character, also stars Bill Nighy, Helen Baxendale, and Mark Williams. Heidi: Queen of the Mountain, partially inspired by Johanna Spyri’s beloved Heidi, reimagines the tale for a new audience.
Heidi, written by the Swiss author in 1880, is a classic children’s novel. The Swiss story, even though adaptations have rarely been faithful to the book itself, is arguably one of the most-read and most-televised tales ever written.
Heidi: Queen of the Mountain, further to Allison, Nighy, Baxendale, and Williams, also stars Edward Baker-Duly, Mimi Slinger, Olivia Grant, Perry Eggleton, and Daniela Denby-Ashe.
