BritBox’s Murder in Provence, starring Roger Allam, Nancy Carroll, Patricia Hodge, Keala Settle, Geff Francis, and Kirsty Bushell, premiered on the British streaming service Tuesday, 1 March 2022.
Endeavour and Father Brown fans, noting certain popular television characters, will always associate Allam with DCI Fred Thursday and Carroll with Lady Felicia Montague. Both Allam and Carroll, respective of Thursday and Lady Felicia, brought to television screens fully realised characterisations. It doesn’t take long to figure out why Allam and Carroll were cast in Murder in Provence. Their talent for bringing to life believable characters is readily apparent.
Allam and Carroll, in Murder in Provence, perfectly embody the characters Antoine Verlaque and Marine Bonnet. Verlaque is the chief magistrate of Aix-Provence. Bonnet, romantically involved with Verlaque, is a law professor. The couple investigate the murders, mysteries, and dark underbelly of their idyllic home.
