Imagine the scenario, you can’t find your nail clippers! Your nails are too long and you don’t feel like biting your nails off. Maybe you have one of those painful hangnails. Or, perhaps you have painful skin peeling from your cuticle, eponychium, or proximal nail fold. Oh, no!

What do you do? Do you make the long 5-minute journey during the pandemic to your local pharmacy or grocery store to get a new set of nail clippers? Or is it worth waiting for the two-days free-shipping (plus extra, unspecified time because of COVID-19) from the big, bad, virtual box store? What do you do? You can’t live like this.

Well, let’s dive in and explore our available options for products and deals and see how best to solve your situation.

WALGREENS

First, let us check out Walgreens. Globally, they have a lot of stores in a lot of places. Way more than CVS. So, hopefully, they have one near you. And the Washington Nationals tried to rip off their logo. They have many 2-for-1 deals if you wanted to scoop up extra clippers for yourself and your friends.

Walgreens.com
  1. Walgreens Fashion Toenail Clipper & Fingernail Clipper Duo: These are not labeled as a set but as a duo. They are that awesome. Do you know what is even more awesomer? They are purple! That’s a real fashion statement. They state that the toenail clippers work for you if you have claws. So, yeah. That’s good. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed! BONUS: The packaging gives you helpful advice on how to properly use these tools effectively to avoid giving yourself ingrown toenails.
  2. Tweezerman Combo Clipper Set: This set looks plain and boring like sets we are probably used to. The real draw is in the brand name: Tweezerman! And I worry because no other brand told me I need to soak my nails before clipping.

CVS

If there is no Walgreens near you, go check out CVS. Maybe you have one of each near you. If you do, CVS has a whopping 4-for-1 deal on some of their clipper sets. WOW! That’s a lot of nail clipping value right there. But, the big issue I have is they don’t tell you online which clippers they have in stock.

CVS.com
  1. KISS Nail Tip Clipper: If as a dude I was able to buy this, I would tell all of my friends Gene Simmons told me in a private DM to get it. And damn, it’s red! And when you do cut your nails with it, it will feel like you are using a cigar cutter or a guillotine.
  2. Clip Right Ergonomic Nail Clipper: This clipper makes me think of a praying mantis or a giant grub you hold in your hand. But it’s ergonomic, so don’t think about holding a bug in your hand. This unit is only for the strong and mighty because it comes with a warning to avoid injury from slipped clippers. This is odd since it’s supposed to be for those with unsteady hands.
  3. Just Because Nail Clipper Set: That is the exact reason why you should buy these, “Just because.” That, and they are the only set CVS shows as available in stores from their website. They look like a super basic set, but the art of a little girl holding a toy will really make you feel manly when cutting your nails. But at least you get regular nail and toenail clippers. They are also the cheapest set I see anywhere.

AMAZON.COM

Amazon of course has the widest selection of clippers. And the best perk from Amazon is being able to click the All Prime selection. But even better than that is when you can get something with free overnight or same-day shipping. If you hate the clippers, tell them you ordered them by accident and ship them back! But here’s what we recommend.

AMAZON.com
  1. Diane Nail Clippers — Bulk Packs: With this bulk pack, you can place nail clippers anywhere you could imagine needing them. You have the option of a bulk 72-pack of regular nail clippers, or the bulk 36-pack of toenail clippers. The best part is they both come with an attached metal nail file. Wow! These are made from stainless steel and they clip your nails safely. No word on if they are rust-proof though. But how could anything rust that comes in a big plastic bucket? Plus you could just throw the rusty one out and pick a new one out from the bucket. BONUS: If you order both the regular nail and toenail buckets, I bet you could get them shipped to arrive even faster.
  2. Mr. Green 3-Piece Clippers Set: This set comes with a leather case. Who has ever owned nail clippers with a leather case? Only those high-rollers who know how to treat their nails well. The set itself is made from medical-grade stainless steel, is anti-rust, and they will keep sharp for several years as long as you provide them good maintenance. What that means I don’t know, but it has a leather pouch!
  3. EZ Grip Rotary Nail Clippers: How do I not swear from sheer joy??? These clippers have a 360-degree, stainless-steel, rotary swivel head action. I bet you could get some crazy action shots, clipping at all kinds of crazy angles if you wanted to start a sweet Instagram page. But for real! Put an end to the awkward twisting trying to find the right angle. If you aren’t a gymnast or bodybuilder, these are the perfect nail clippers for you.
  4. REVLON Nail Clipper: These are the most basic set available, and they have a deal to buy two get one free. To get free overnight shipping you would need to buy 18 of these, but you would get nine for free! How could you pass on that and get a name-brand clipper? These are easy and safe, carefully designed where others are not. They even state you could use these in either hand. Great news for left-handed, or for clipper your other hand.
  5. The World’s Best Fingernail and Toenail Clippers: I mean, holy $h!t! The world’s best fingernail clippers? You need not look any further. Plus they promise you there will be no more flying nail clippings. This clipper catches them for safe and sanitary disposal. What if you wet your nails ahead of time? Will the clipping stick in the catcher? The design comes with some feathers on it, and they promise that they stay sharp forever. Cool!

OUR CHOICE

I showed you some of the top options for whether you go to your local pharmacy store or order from Amazon. Making a choice is difficult. In typical blog review posts, I’ll tell you the best choice is whatever you feel like will best fit your needs. They are all great or not-so-great options that may or may not service your needs.

I will say, if there are too many pieces to a set, surely one piece will get lost. But, like pens, all of these will end up lost to be discovered by someone on the other side of the world. So, why not just go for the bucket. Or throw a curveball and get a Dremel Rotary Tool. Because yeah, power tools!

Which ones would you choose? Leave a comment below to let me know.

There wasn’t much purpose to this article other then I was thinking about how many of us spend too much time overanalyzing something before we buy it. How many have done this with nail clippers? None of you? Yeah, me neither, so I wrote this post. If you use the Amazon links to buy something I may earn a small commission from that purchase.
