Social distancing policies and travel lock-downs can make it challenging for reporters to cover crucial stories related to COVID-19. Today, we’re launching the Social Monitoring Toolkit — a free guide for how to quickly find stories, connect with sources and verify content from social platforms.

The toolkit features expert tips and advice from our Associates on monitoring, verification, searching and engaging online communities, and strategies for effective publishing.

Check out the Social Monitoring Toolkit here >> toolkit.fathm.co

This guide is designed to build the capacity of journalists and news organisations that have limited background or experience with social monitoring. It is also for journalism instructors and their students whose classes — and reporting — must move online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Social newsgathering is also a great way to create and launch collaborative initiatives, so if you’re interested in working with other newsrooms and journalism schools, fill out the form here and we’ll get in touch.
