After several months of research and listening to our users, we have worked hand in hand with them and medical experts to offer you a version 2.0 of Fatster.
A first enriching feedback:
The way users browse our application is fundamental. Their motivation to use X or Y feature of the service is quite unique depending on their profile. Some of them want challenges between buddies, others want to have access to the performance of the community to make their own opinion on their personal statistics. We have become aware of this as we have been talking to almost all of our users via email, whatsapp and directly in our mobile application either through private chat or as comments in the news feed posts. We thank them very much for their trust and their willingness to help us.
A new social dimension:
In this future version, we have reviewed the basics of our application to best meet our mission: to create a social network dedicated to weight loss by connecting people sharing the same ambition and the same profile together. We have reworked our connecting algorithm. This includes new parameters and many variables that were not considered until now. You will also be able to create groups of friends with common themes: a wedding, a pregnancy, a summer in the making. Losing weight should be fun and social and this is how we think it should start.
A new user experience: we will offer direct access to our application to allow the user to discover the service immediately, without needing to subscribe. The registration will be done in a second step if the user likes the service and wants to interact with the community.
Gamification:
If you make an effort, you should be rewarded. We are creating a gamification system that introduces Fatsties. The Fatsties can be consumed directly in app to access temporary new features or at selected partners.
Content:
- Fitness exercises available according to your level by high level sports coaches
- Healthy Recipes
- Community Challenges
- Adding data is made easy thanks to connected objects.
Technology:
We have lightened our mobile application, made it more user friendly and redesigned the whole architecture with the same technology used by Facebook: React Native. This means more fluidity, more fun and more features.
One more thing:
The introduction of Pro Health, our tool to connect our community with nutritionists and later on many other experts (sport coaches for example). We will offer you a follow-up by health experts and all this online. Your nutritional information, your sports activity and your daily improvement will be communicated in real time and in a secure way.
The interest is twofold: to introduce a medical dimension at Fatster because this is not our job, and to offer health professionals the opportunity to discover our community that wants to lose weight. The digital transformation is key today and we want to be a part of it.
