As we come up on our one year anniversary of lockdown, companies are now starting to reevaluate where work should be done in the long-term.

Last week, Spotify announced that they would start a “Work from Anywhere” program — employees can work from home, in the office, or in any country. Salesforce also recently announced a new program for employees that allows them to choose the type of work style they want to have: fully-remote, office-based, and flex. …

February 5th — This past semester, FCG Consulting has tried to cope with online classes, rescheduled plans, and switching the way that we interact with our members. Now, we’re ready to get back into the swing of things and make sure that we prepare our members for future case competitions or for interviews in the fall.

Here are some events we are excited to be hosting in these coming months:

  • February 11th — Case Curriculum Session #1: Join us at 5:30pm CST on Zoom to go through a sample case created by an FCG executive board member. …

Around fifty years ago, arcade games became the amusement attractions of the century. Dave & Busters was the place to be and Pac-Man always had a long line filled with youngsters waiting to “ride” its joystick. It wasn’t until the early nineties that bulky arcade games could now be played at home on consoles and handheld devices.

Now, with over millions of games to play across multiple mediums, the gaming industry has become one of the most important industries — not only within the entertainment industry but across the consumer product market as a whole. In 2022, the gaming industry…

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world hasn’t been able to get a grip on proper treatments and protocols for the coronavirus. COVID-19 is shaping the way that every industry is and will be doing business by promoting digital innovation, and with healthcare being one of the few industries that have always utilized in-person interaction, more technology could bridge the gap even further for patients to get quality health care.

In these times, many hospitals and private practices do have strict precautions for patients who choose to visit in-person, but many doctors, especially those who deal with non-life-threatening…

Earlier this week, artists Andrew Boyd and Gan Golan unveiled their latest piece — the countdown clock to climate disaster. Inspired by the research conducted by the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), Boyd and Golan felt implied to represent this research artistically, in the form of a metronome. As the clock resides in one of the business capitals of the world, it begs the question — are businesses really taking climate change into consideration when making their business decisions?

To simply put it, some companies are incorporating sustainable practices into their business operations.

In late…

Over the last decade, technology is slowly becoming the most valuable asset of every company. No matter what industry you work in, technology will always play a role in the work you do, and because technology is an integral part of a business, consultants also need to recognize and understand how businesses can use technology to their advantage. And that’s where technology consulting comes into play.

Tech consulting is providing an insight into what kind of technology will best suit a business’s needs, which usually revolves around the information technology infrastructure needed to support the business. …

Since the quarantine period started, most industries have been impacted negatively. Sales are down, product launches are being delayed, and work operations are being done remotely, among other tasks. Technology-based companies seem to be somewhat stable while airlines and small businesses are suffering. With almost everybody at home and online, most people are using this time to catch up on their favorite shows and movies, as well as indulging in new ones.

Popular streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu have gained millions of new subscribers and are continuing to gain rights to air new content. Disney+ even released their latest…
