A November Summary from Fearless She Wrote
Happy December and welcome to the final month of 2019!
The past month has been an exciting one at Fearless She Wrote. We expanded our community by 38 new writers and hundreds of new readers.
We’re a three-editor team and we work to review your work and publish it as quickly as we can. You’ve spent time writing your stories, and we don’t want them lingering in our submissions box any longer than necessary.
As a team, we’ve discussed different ways to make this happen, and we’d like to share our notes with our writers to make the submissions and reviewing process move as quickly and smoothly as possible.
We publish stories of womanhood, empowerment, feminism, sexuality, and life experience.
The interpretations of these topics are vast, and we’re open to your vision of any of these topics. With that said, please ensure that your story does center on one (or many) of these topics.
We’re a feminist publication; we want to empower women. We do not want to tear-down men.
We have many male readers and writers; they’re valuable members of our Fearless community. We need to enlist men in our fight. If we’re going to achieve equality among the sexes, we need men standing beside us. As such, we won’t publish any pieces that read as man-hating or man-bashing.
Still, we recognize that many of our writers have been traumatized at the hands of men or the patriarchal structure as a whole, and we will always encourage you to tell your personal stories. We believe that writing can be integral to the healing process.
Stylistically, please pay attention to your titles, subtitles, and tags.
Please make sure that the title and subtitle in your article match the display title and subtitle, and also double-check to ensure that you’ve tagged your piece with one of the following tags: feminism, relationships, sexuality, women, self, poetry (poetry must also be tagged in one of the topics above). We want to make sure your work lights up our homepage!
The past few weeks have been celebratory for us at Fearless.
We didn’t know what to expect when we started Fearless She Wrote in April, and now eight months later, we’re blown away by the talent and openness of our writers, and the variation in the stories we receive. We’re so happy to have you here, and we’re looking forward to the continued growth of our Fearless community into the year 2020.
Have an incredible December, and end to 2019. We look forward to seeing where the new year brings us.
In case you missed it! (November 2019)
