Be Quiet Woman, Read Your Bible
Corinthians 14:34–35
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Let your women keep silence
[ Lauren stop talking. Lauren see me after class. Lauren why are you in detention again? Lauren when will you learn to just shut up]
It is not permitted unto them
[ Lauren you can’t sit like that; ladies close their legs. You can’t wear that, what message are you trying to send? Lauren you can’t make jokes like that, it’s unbecoming of a girl to curse]
They are commanded
[ unroll your skirt Lauren you look like a whore. Be home by ten Lauren, it’s not safe for girls to be out late. Sit down Lauren. Calm down Lauren. Stop fighting already Lauren.]
To be under obedience
[ Sweetheart get your boss to take my order I want it to be right. Submit to the word of the lord. Lauren how many detentions do you need to learn?]
And if they will learn anything
[ I learned to walk in pairs to the bathroom.
I learned not to leave my drink alone.
I learned to dress appropriately.
I learned not to drink too much.
I learned four of my friends did this, but their rapists
didn’t care]
Let them ask their husbands
[ Lauren you’ll make a great housewife one day. Lauren you won’t find a boyfriend if you dress like that. Lauren boys don’t like girls that curse. One day Lauren a boy will make you want to stay home for him]
For it is a shame for women to speak.
