Each black thread
binds me and elevates me
gives me immense energy
It gives me the confidence
to face the odds
to question authority
Each black thread speaks of
my freedom
my independence
The mysteries are far
beyond understanding
It speaks
of the rebellious me
Sometimes hides
sometimes reveals
the Black in me
is intense
