Losing faith in humanity is the coward’s way out — and you’re better than that.
Have you ever said you’ve “lost faith” in humanity?
Have you heard someone else say it?
You watch nation leaders grope women. You watch a plane with 183 innocent, beautiful human lives go down because two men are in an ego-fuelled pissing contest. You watch innocent black men shot by so-called peacekeepers. You watch your country go down in a deep recession because the few rich, want to get even richer. You watch the Amazon rainforest chopped down at an unbearable rate, so we can have beef on our plate.
Lost faith in humanity yet?
Yes? You’re wrong.
Before you scream in protest, wait. Let me explain.
Of the 149 countries included in the World Economic Forum’s Gender Equity Report, 101 improved their gender equity, meaning they reduced the gaps between men and women, boys and girls. At this pace, the overall gender gap will close in 99.5 years, on average, across the 107 countries included since the first edition of the report (WEF Report pg. 5–6).
