My boyfriend wants us to road trip from Atlanta to Texas in the fall. He’s outdoorsy, so he suggested that we camp out in his tent as we travel. The first thing that came to my mind was: “Sundown towns.”

A sundown town is a town that Black people cannot safely navigate after dark.
