What It’s Like to Be a Woman During a Pandemic Under Trump

Women are the primary care-givers. The greater number of nurses and technicians are female, the greater number of doctors (who have less patient contact) are men. They are also the primary cleaners and clerks.

We have all heard by now that systemic flaws in our healthcare and governmental management are both racist, sexist, and xenophobic.

This week, we learned that Elizabeth Warren lost her brother to COVID-19.

The most informed and well-spoken advocate for wage earners during the last great financial crisis is grieving with her family right now. And, everyone — including many men — who were quite ready to consider a female president of strong character, are also grieving.

This is just some of what we are going through as women living in the age of Trump.

Women are quite accustomed to propping up a man ego — ugh, thanks Melania, Ivanka, and Kelly Anne — but this time around women are really, really frustrated.

Women are aware, too, that domestic violence calls are up, and that the home is declared by many experts to be an unsafe place for women and children.
