Mia bakes warm muffins and croissants for her Airbnb guests.
Andrew hands customers bottled water while they wait for their oil change.
Marcus punches a few extra holes on a lucky patrons’ coffee rewards card.
Jeremy drops everything to help his shoppers find the perfect book.

Tiny gestures are everywhere. They make the world of difference for the customer and give a sense of pride and accomplishment to the giver.

We don’t see this as much with major corporations. It’s too risky, time-consuming and costly. If they don’t appease everyone, that’s ok. They’ll get more customers tomorrow.

Local business is a different ball game. Their motivation is good Yelp reviews and repeat, happy customers.

Perhaps every business, from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500s can learn from Mia’s hospitality. Or Andrew’s thoughtfulness.

The art of tiny gestures is how you stand out in a sea of noise. More on this later.
