ATLANTA HISTORY WAS MADE on Sunday October 9, 2022 when the city’s own iconic hip-hop/rnb trio, TLC, was honored with a mural dedication at Good As Burgers HQ, the GABS House. Local artists, curators, entrepreneurs, family & friends joined forces to put together an event that was created to elevate art and bolster community awareness while honoring Atlanta legends in a way that has never been done before. Good As Burgers (owners), who have close family ties with TLC, partnered with Can I Kick It, Elevate Atlanta, YGAFIM nonprofit, BAMM Network, and Press Play Entertainment to bring the event to fruition.

The Terry St. block party was such a vibe — art and music were in full effect! Hot 107.9’s DJ Geronimo put up a nostalgic backdrop to the Live artistry that lined the sidewalk, while the GABS house interior displayed an astounding collection of art inspired by the culture and, of course, TLC. It was clear to see how much of an impact TLC has made on worldwide culture and community — people came and paid homage through their TLC inspired looks and choreography. They came with an energy that can only be felt in Atlanta.

Some of Atlanta’s very own — mayor Andre Dickens, the incredible Ryan Cameron, Atlanta music industry vet Shanti Das, GA State Representative candidate Inga Willis, and Ian Burke who played a prominent role in the development of TLC — showed up to show love and tell stories of the roads that led up to October 9th’s monumental unveiling. Inga Willis spoke on how TLC’s representation in ATL “gave us the agency to believe, to create, and to be incredible,” and that’s what so many people in the crowd, on stage, and behind the event came to see, celebrate, and do. The mural, painted by artist Dan Stone, brought tears to the eyes of many and now serves as the only landmark in Atlanta of its kind — on GABS House. In addition to the TLC dedication, this was the GABS House and Food Truck grand opening! Needless to say, the event was EPIC — just check social media for the receipts!
