AGENT RANSACK 🔍
It is really difficult to search for some files. Have you felt it? Even using a built-in search option, won't be helpful sometimes.
Here is a better way to locate it, with additional features. Agent Ransack is a free file search tool for finding files on your PC or network drives. It has a Lite mode, which is FREE for both personal and commercial use but also a Professional mode that includes optional pay-for features.
As you can see, you have a lot of options for the search under the Main tab such as File Name, Containing text and Look in. It is not necessary to provide all the details. You can search by using any one of the options. You can also narrow down your search by providing the size of the file or folder that you are looking for. Using the last modified date and time, one can locate the files. Your search statistics also appear like how many folders or files have been searched, how many were found with those keywords.
As we can see, I have searched for the keyword “demo” in the filename and I stopped the search after a second. Within a second it has checked 18,064 items. Don't you think it's a powerful searcher?
It also gives a report of the searches and findings which you can find in the Reports tab. In the Reports tab itself, you have a couple of filters available.
In the dropdown list of Report, you can find File List, Contents, Error list, Keywords by summary and Keywords by file In the dropdown list of Style, you can find CSV, txt, HTML and Tab-separated. You can select the type of file from the File drop-down list.
Under the Options tab, can specify whether the file has boolean contents or regexp contents and have can specify whether they are office/pdf documents.
Ransack also allows you to search based on the creation date, modified date, or last accessed date and time. One of the interesting features about ransack is that the search can be based on the last search also.
